Nutritional quality of wet distillers’ grains co–ensiled with whole–plant maize and its feeding value for lambs

چکیده
The high moisture content of wet distillers’ grains with solubles (WDGS) has limited its feeding value despite the relatively nutritive value. co–ensiling whole–plant maize, as a complementary feed, was evaluated for growing lambs by formulating diets whose contents were: whole plant maize silage (WPMS) + sunflower oilcake meal (SOM) (control, WPMS SOM), dried (WPMS DDGS), and (WPM) co–ensiled WDGS (WPM – WDGS). Rumen fermentation parameters in situ degradability were using three cannulated Merino wethers cross over 3 × Latin square design experiment that lasted 39 days. Concurrently, feed intake growth performance South Africa Mutton (29.7 ± 3.6 kg) 45 DDGS diet had lower rate dry matter degradation (p < 0.05) compared to SOM WPM–WDGS diets. However, rapidly fermentable fraction, well progressively fraction matter, not different > 0.05). No differences rumen volatile fatty acid, ammonia nitrogen concentration nor pH result observed. Lambs consuming WDGS–based average daily gain WPMS–based conversion ratio affected In conclusion, provides opportunity long–term storage utilization lamb feeding.

Preservation and Feeding of Wet Distillers Grains to Dairy Cattle
Distillers’ grains continue to be one of the most readily available co-products in use in the Midwest. Its price is driven not only by that of other concentrate feeds (such as corn and soybean meal) but also by supply and demand. Its popularity has increased in recent years among dairy producers, grain elevators, and nutritionists due to its high nutrient density, competitive price, and availab...
متن کاملEffect of Feeding Wet Distillers Grains with Solubles to Beef Cattle on Air and Manure Quality
Air quality is becoming a pressing issue for beef feedlot producers. Feeding practices influence the excretion of starch, fiber, nitrogen (N), and sulfur (S) in manure, thereby affecting nutrient content and the production of ammonia (NH3) and odorous compounds. Wet distillers grains with solubles (WDGS) are a common and economical ingredient in feedlot diets. WDGS are high in protein, fiber, p...

متن کاملCorn Distillers Wet Grains
The production of corn‐based ethanol in the United States is dramatically increasing, and consequently, so is the quantity of generated coproducts, all of which are currently fed to livestock. Distillers Wet Grain (DWG) is one of these coproduct feeds. Many studies have investigated the nutritional properties of DWG and the response of livestock (primarily beef and dairy) to inclusion of these ...
متن کاملNutritional Value of Distillers Dried Grains and Solubles for Poultry
It is now well recognized by the feed industry that dramatically increasing quantities of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) are entering the ingredient market. For those interested in the history of this ingredient, a substantial scientific literature exists in both refereed journals and proceedings of conferences, particularly the Distillers Feed Conference. In 1970, Dr. M. L. Scott...
